This function consists of picking, receiving, shipping and replenishment procedures. Participating in creating and keeping a clean, safe and friendly environment for all personnel.

Manufacturing Engineer Manager


Directs, supports and supervises the manufacturing engineering team (process engineering, automation and controls, and industrial engineering) in support of operations as well as in the development of the various manufacturing processes of the company. Instructs the team with a culture and a continuous improvement approach by aiming for ‘’best in class’’ goals.

Key responsibilities and tasks

  • In collaboration with the Spectra Head Office team, oversees the installation and start-up of process equipment, the installation of workstations and associated documentation (layout, process flow, PFMEA, control plan, instructions working, etc.);
  • Sets the objectives and priorities of the manufacturing engineering department. Defines and maintains the performance indicators of his/her department;
  • Ensures the necessary and competent resources are in place in order to support production operations on all shifts;
  • Analyzes manufacturing processes and evaluates opportunities for improvement (reduction of non-added value, reduction of waste, improvement of resource utilization, reduction of cycle times, efficiency of machines % OEE, etc.) with an APQP approach;
  • Leads and manages improvement and expansion projects. Develops plans, creates timelines and communicates them to the organization, coordinates activities and executes them, ensures the effective use of human and material resources to achieve the set objectives;
  • Drafts the specifications and participates in the decision of contracts for the purchase of equipment and technical services (contractors);
  • Participates in the development of project quoting activities;
  • Keeps abreast of the latest technologies associated with our industry;
  • Plans and manages the department's budget;
  • Works towards continuous improvement;
  • Regularly reviews and maintains processes affecting the manufacturing engineering department (equipment development, validation of manufacturing processes, etc.);
  • Recruits staff and ensures professional development in appropriate areas. Maintains the skills grid;
  • Evaluates the performance of its staff and monitors objectives on a regular and rigorous basis.

Summary of Qualifications

Required skills
  • Manufacturing processes associated with the processing of metal products (stamping and thin sheet welding, automated assembly);
  • Data acquisition system;
  • Design for Manufacturing (impact on component design and GD & T);
  • Continuous assembly line design (bottleneck, constraint theory, etc.);
  • Problem solving methods (8D, 6 Sigma, Shainin Red X, etc.);
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) development process;
  • Swedish laws and regulations on occupational health and safety;
  • Standards ISO 14011, IATF16949;
  • MS Office softwares (Excel, Project and Word) and AutoCAD;
  • Bilingual; English and Swedish (oral and written).

Education and affiliation

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering including 5 years in technical staff supervision.
