Distribution Supervisor

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises assigned functions related to the physical shipping and receiving of inventory to ensure that all records are accurately maintained, inventory properly controlled, and orders filled in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Participates in development of shipping and receiving, quality, and rework processes to ensure maximum efficiencies are gained and performance standards are met.
  • Coordinate outbound carrier schedules and appointments to meet targeted time frames.
  • Communicates and ensures adherence to customer compliance requirements for all outbound shipments.
  • Recommends improvements for space utilization within designated area.
  • Prepares reports and communicates performance results to team and management
  • Actively supports, and executes safety, security, and facility maintenance programs.
  • Accurately maintains and approves payroll records
  • Makes recommendations for the continuous improvement of the system’s utilization.
  • Accountable for the effective use of warehouse management systems within assigned area to maximize efficient use of labor, and meet shipping, inventory, and customer service goals.
  • Responsible for motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Advises Human Resources and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues.
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and Managers to best meet company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the personnel’s work priorities;
  • Supervise the employees and apply any disciplinary actions;
  • Verify and complete the time sheets;
  • Authorize any overtime, when needed;
  • Carry out any training;
  • Manage and follow all files related to work related accidents;
  • Manage and resolve any conflicts within the team;
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the working process;
  • Provide help to employees in problematic situations;
  • See that the workplace is kept clean;
  • Manage the maintenance and availability of the working equipment;
  • Make sure that all rules and procedures are respected;
  • Perform employee performance review

Experience
  • Requires supervisory level experience (typically 3-5 years)
  • Warehouse – Shipping and Receiving Experience (2-5 years)
  • JD Edwards WMS – preferred

Summary

Spectra Premium Industries, a leading North American Auto Parts Manufacturer, is seeking a Category Manager (CM) for the North American market. The CM's primary responsibility is to enable Spectra Premium and their customers to grow sales through objective category expertise in order to deliver the best possible distribution, pricing, merchandising and promotional results.

This position will leverage industry data, market trends, customer insights, and other quantifiable sources to implement fact base selling and actionable strategies that drive category growth and profitability. The CM will develop and maintain customer alignment through on-going dialogue with customer category leaders and managers. The CM will also work in concert with internal team leaders to achieve the customer's business strategy including customer penetration, marketing/sales program implementation, operations/promotion financial management and new product development plans and programs.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Effectively engage the customer to build rapport at all levels, in order to fully understand their business, marketplace and strategies.
  • Identifies industry trends, shopper insights and competitive comparisons to help discover weaknesses in sales strategy and suggest changes to drive customer and Spectra Premium sales.
  • Develops distribution, pricing, promotion, and assortment recommendations aligned to customer and Spectra Premium brand strategies.
  • Identifies issues and opportunities through market analyses and recommend strategic action in collaboration with product development team.
  • Conducts monthly customer category reviews and periodic assessments of category objectives.
  • Manages business intelligence support across categories for all assigned strategic accounts.
  • Generates insightful dashboards that analyze and report on sales, GMROI, POS, and pricing data.
  • Provides forecasting data to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborates with customer and internal sales team to deliver on new product launches and promotions.
  • Effectively executes Spectra Premium pricing strategies for assigned customer categories.
  • Engages customer on shelf performance and strategies, as well as planogram development based on category objectives.
  • Acts as category expert to the Spectra Premium sales team, and establishes category roadmap with sales team at the customer channel level.
  • Provides Sales Team with analytical and technical support to capitalize on opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Provides appropriate training to improve the capability of cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for maintaining files and business documentation as directed by Spectra Premium to thoroughly document business transactions with the customer.
  • Manages part number additions, deletions, retentions and rankings.

Qualifications
  • Strong category or sales background with an excellent understanding of business processes.
  • Understanding of automotive aftermarket distribution channels.
  • Experience in effective customer management and selling to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and achieve priorities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills and the ability to present comfortably and confidently to clients.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team framework.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer and gain their trust and respect.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Analyze and report sales, POS and inventory data using Power BI.
